Tuscany Suites and Casino: A Blend of Tranquility and Excitement off the Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas, renowned as the Entertainment Capital of the World, boasts a plethora of hotels and casinos, each with its own unique charm. Among them, the Tuscany Suites and Casino on Flamingo Rd about 0.6 miles (1 km) off the Strip stands out as an oasis of tranquility with a touch of Italian flair. This article delves into the key aspects of the resort, exploring its amenities, location, dining options, casino, room details, and the overall guest experience.

Amenities: A Balance of Relaxation and Recreation

Tuscany Suites and Casino pride themselves on offering a range of amenities to cater to the diverse needs of their guests. The lushly landscaped grounds create a serene atmosphere, providing a welcome retreat from the bustling atmosphere of a Strip hotel. The resort features four outdoor pools surrounded by cabanas, offering a perfect setting for relaxation under the sun.

During my stay, we only used the main pool and never had any difficulties finding a lounger in the sun or shade. Guests at the pool were a little older and less raucous than some of the Strip hotels, especially Strip hotels those in the same price range as Tuscany.

For those seeking fitness and wellness, the hotel provides a fully-equipped fitness center, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines. There is a full-service spa on-site but I did not have a chance to enjoy a treatment.

Location: Proximity to the Strip and Beyond

Conveniently located just off the famous Las Vegas Strip, Tuscany Suites and Casino strikes a harmonious balance between accessibility and tranquility. The proximity to iconic landmarks, entertainment venues, and the city’s vibrant nightlife ensures that guests have easy access to the best Las Vegas has to offer.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the Strip or a 5-10 minute Uber or cab fare. Public transit is another option for those who don’t want to walk or pay for a hired car. Because it’s off the Strip, getting around Vegas by vehicle is simple and quick. Drivers can avoid the Strip to take you anywhere you want to go. My Lyft ride from the airport to the hotel took 16 minutes (3.8 miles) and cost me $27.97 before tip. My retire ride to the Las Vegas airport cost me just $21.19 and took 14 minutes (3.4 miles).

Dining: Affordable Culinary Delights

The hotel boasts a selection of dining options to satisfy every palate. The Tuscany Gardens is a popular choice, offering an elegant atmosphere with a diverse menu featuring Italian and American cuisine. Marilyn’s is a classic diner offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, takeout and room service. Guests can also enjoy Caffe Bottega’s casual offerings of fresh-baked pastries, tasty breakfast sandwiches, and coffee in the morning or artisan flatbreads, panini, soup or fresh salads throughout the day. The Tuscany Pub provides a cozy spot to unwind with a drink and some pub-style fare. Prices at all dining venues are reasonable compared to Strip hotels, as are the poolside drinks.

Casino: Gaming Excitement

The Tuscany Casino, nestled within the resort, provides a classic Vegas gaming experience. With a variety of table games, slots, and a comfortable race and sportsbook area, guests can indulge in the thrill of chance without leaving the premises. If you’re a blackjack enthusiast like me, Ellis Island Casino is a short 5 minute walk from Tuscany and offers $5 blackjack tables with proper 3:2 payouts for blackjack hands.

Room Details: Comfort and Style

Accommodations at Tuscany Suites and Casino are designed to provide comfort and style. The suites feature separate living and sleeping areas, creating a spacious and welcoming environment. With modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi access, guests have everything they need for a relaxing stay.

As the buildings are all low (3 or 4 stories tall), guests should not expect magnificent views of the Strip from their hotel. I paid a little extra to have a room with a view of the pool. Our room, while comfortable, felt a little dated. Our room had a kitchenette complete with a mini-fridge and Keurig coffee maker. Housekeeping kept the coffee supplies well stocked during my stay.

Drawbacks of Staying at Tuscany: There Aren’t Many

I loved my stay at this hotel and there are not many negative aspects aside from not being directly on the Strip. Some areas the property feel slightly dated but for the price, it offers great value. It’s worth noting that the hotel does charge a nightly resort fee of around $40 per night which, while unfortunate, is standard for nearly all hotels in Vegas.

I’ll definitely be back. Tuscany Suites and Casino offer a unique blend of tranquility and excitement, providing a respite from the lively Las Vegas Strip while maintaining convenient access to its myriad attractions. With its array of amenities, dining options, casino offerings, and comfortable accommodations, the resort has become a favoured choice for those seeking a well-rounded Vegas experience.
